Kraški pršut PGI and goat cheese toast flavoured with caramelised onions

How to prepare


  • 8 thin slices of Kraški pršut PGI
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • red onion, finely-chopped
  • 8 slices of ciabatta
  • 140 g fresh goat cheese
  • roquette

For the balsamic vinaigrette

  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • salt and pepper



1. Make the balsamic vinaigrette.


2. Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil.


3. Add the finely chopped red onion. Cook until tender and translucent.


4. Add the balsamic vinaigrette.


5. Toast 8 slices of ciabatta (at medium heat). Spread goats cheese on each slice of bread.


6. Arrange the Kraški pršut PGI on the bread.
