EU stand at the Salon International de l’Agriculture 2025

Find out about today’s farming practices and how the European Union (EU) is paving the way towards a more competitive, fair and sustainable agriculture for Europe.

The French international agricultural fair, Salon International de l'Agriculture (SIA), took place in Paris from 22 February-2 March 2025. Visitors discovered how the EU paves the way towards a fairer, competitive, healthier and more sustainable food system for all Europeans, including:

  • Today’s farming practices: the common agricultural policy (CAP) is the EU’s pledge to ensure safe and affordable food, environmental care, generational renewal, while supporting farmers' income;
  • How the EU helps us to make healthier food choices and cut out food waste to meet the targets of sustainable food systems;
  • The cutting-edge technology supporting modern agriculture: how the EU empowers the farming industry, from satellite imagery to geo-tagged photos and real-time data to improve decision-making and promote sustainable farming practices.

Description

Highlights of the EU stand at SIA:

  • Live cooking shows by Chef Nastasia Lyard using surprising ingredients and offering unique tasting experiences with EU quality products; Live cooking shows: recipes by Chef Nastasia Lyard (PDF in French)
  • Workshops on zero food waste, circular cooking and food upcycling;
  • Interactive experiences on composting (TBC) and healthy soils that let you see farming in a new light.
  • Pause-café/Coffee chats with EU representatives to learn more about EU support for agriculture and a nice cup to take home as a souvenir;
  • Agriculture from space with the Copernicus Earth observation;
  • Activities to find out more about the European quality policy, which protects the great diversity of products from the regions of Europe, by tasting a diverse range of EU agrifood products.

Visitors could:

  • Take fun photos with friends to keep and bring back home or share on social media;
  • Send a postcard to friends from the stand;
  • Play interactive games on the common agricultural policy, on food waste and match products carrying geographic indications with the correct flag.
