Report
An EU stand participated in the Libramont Fair in Libramont-Chevigny, Belgium, from 26 to 29 July 2024.
During the official opening ceremony, the Commission presented the geographical indications (GIs) certificate for the newly registered Saucisson Gaumais PGI to a representative of the producers, in the presence of Anne-Catherine Dalcq, the Walloon Minister of Agriculture.
The EU stand attracted an average of 1,500 visitors daily, who actively engaged in various activities. The ‘Pause café’ concept with Commission experts facilitated in-depth exchanges on the common agricultural policy, the two CAP strategic plans for Belgium, organic farming, and the use of imagery and satellite data for precision farming. These discussions were particularly appreciated by farmers. The stand's activities, including the tasting and presentation of GIs from 10 Member States, were highly successful. Overall, the fair was widely covered in the Belgian media, highlighting the EU's active participation and engagement with the public.
