Goal and strategy

Sweden’s strategy aims to increase the productivity, viability and competitiveness of the agricultural sector while protecting animal welfare and seeking increased ambition in environmental and climate standards. Increasing food production is another priority. The strategy also aims to contribute to the development of Sweden’s rural areas, to help ensure that these are attractive places to live and work in.

The annual performance report (APR) presents: spending, outputs, and results achieved through the CAP Strategic Plan (CSP). 

The APRs cover a qualitative and a quantitative overview of the CSPs’ implementation, providing an outline of the expenditures and performance achieved.

Legal basis

Regulation (EU) 2021/2115 establishing rules on support for strategic plans to be drawn up by EU countries under the common agricultural policy (CAP Strategic Plans).
