Goal and strategy

The cornerstones of Finland’s strategy are food security, farm competitiveness, increased environmental and climate ambition, and vibrant rural areas. A wide range of interventions are put in place in order to respond to the economic, environmental and social challenges faced by the agricultural sector and rural areas. The Finnish Plan encompasses both Mainland Finland and Åland Islands. While direct payments are the same for both, the rural development interventions are specifically designed for each of the two regions.
