The Implementation Dialogue hosted by Christophe Hansen, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, will take place on 6 March 2026 with selected key practitioners (farmers, producer organisations, processors, retailers and other food system stakeholders as well as enforcement authorities) to exchange views on Directive (EU) 2019/633 on unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships in the agricultural and food supply chain (UTP Directive) and its implementation.

The dialogue aims to better understand the reasons for the persisting challenges and shortcomings, such as the uneven implementation of the UTP Directive, the lack of harmonisation and the emerging new unfair trading practices, and to discuss approaches that could have the potential to tackle them and contribute to addressing the situation where farmers are systematically forced to sell below their production costs.

A summary of the dialogue’s conclusions will be published on this page shortly after the event.
