EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen will be hosting a High-level trade mission of EU agri-food sector representatives to Thailand on 24-29 May 2026. The purpose of this visit is to facilitate European agricultural food and beverage exports to Thailand and expand their presence on this market.
The European Commission invites in particular business representatives from the following sectors to apply:
- processed agricultural products, including confectionery,
- dairy,
- beef, poultry and pork meat products,
- wine, beer and spirits,
- olive oil,
- fruit and vegetables.
Programme
Representatives of the European agri-food sector will benefit from an excellent platform to discover the functioning of the Thai market and to make direct business contacts in Bangkok. They will have the opportunity to promote Europe’s high-quality food standards, geographical indications as well as EU organic products.
The visit to Thailand will focus on:
- improving the understanding of Thai’s import market access conditions
- identifying new opportunities for EU products,
- participating in business-to-business activities, and
- attending retail and site visits.
Delegates will be able to attend the Thaifex Anuga Asia fair in Bangkok where the EU will be present with a pavilion, and participate in specific business to business meetings (including with buyers, importers and retailers from South-East Asian region) in the context of the fair.
Travel and accommodation
Participants are required to cover the cost of flights and accommodation themselves. All business events in the official programme, including local transport, will be organised and covered by the European Commission.

Description
Thailand, with a population of nearly 72 million people and serves as a strategic hub for trade in Southeast Asia. Thailand’s growing market, strategic location and the perspective for a future Free Trade Agreement offer strong potential for expanding agri-food exports and unlocking existing trade barriers.
The European Union has been involved in promoting EU agricultural food and beverage products in Thailand by co-financing 6 ongoing promotional programmes proposed by organisations from different EU countries and targeting the country, as well as the EU’s own initiative promotion campaign during 2020-22, organisation of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) export seminar in 2023 and publication of Market Entry Handbook in 2024.
