EU agri-food business delegation to Brazil

Agri-food business mission to São Paulo.

EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen will be visiting Brazil on 20-24 October 2025, accompanied by a business delegation of representatives from the EU agri-food sector. The purpose of this visit is to facilitate European agricultural food and beverage exports to Brazil and expand their presence on this market.

The European Commission invites in particular business representatives from the following sectors to apply:

  • processed agricultural products such as confectionery, chocolate, pasta, biscuits,
  • dairy (with a focus on cheese),

  • wine and spirits,

  • olive oil,

  • fruit and vegetables, and

  • other beverages including beer.

How to participate

European and national producers’ organisations and companies from all EU countries, with export potential. The selection of the business representatives will consider product and geographical balance of the delegation. In this context, the candidates’ representativeness of a given sector, their capacity to conduct international business and accessing untapped markets will also be considered.

The visit to Brazil will focus on providing market intelligence in the food and beverage sector, business to business activities, as well as retail and site visits. The programme of the business delegation will offer the representatives of the European agri-food sector with an excellent platform to discover the Brazilian market and to make direct business contacts in São Paulo with B2B professionals from across Brazil.

Interested applicants are invited to apply online.

Description

Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America, and by far the largest economy of the four Mercosur countries with 220 million consumers out of the 270 million from the four Mercosur countries. Yet so far, Brazil’s potential as major destination for EU agri-food exports remains largely untapped. EU Agri-food exports to the region represent currently only about 6% in value of all EU exports.

The European Union has been involved in promoting EU agricultural food and beverage products in Brazil  over the past years. It is co-financing six ongoing promotion campaigns led by organisations from different EU countries and targeting the country. In 2025, the European Commission participated in ANUGA Select fair in Sao Paolo from 8-10 April, and has published the Market Entry Handbook.
